Kate Beckinsale lights up the Oscars in Tacori Earrings
There is no larger stage to make a fashion statement than the Red Carpet on Oscar night, which has stylewatchers all over the world looking at who-wears-what to the Academy Awards to determine trends for everything from the hottest colors, the sexiest fabrics, cut and shapes of dresses, and of course, luxe jewels.
Style-wise, one notable gown trend was the departure from plunging or sweetheart necklines, which traditionally expose the neck, collar and décolletage of A-list actresses. This year, at the 83rd annual Academy Awards, many necklines trended instead towards full torso coverage, a la Amy Adams, Michelle Williams, Cate Blanchett and Scarlett Johansson. This fresh styling left little room for necklaces, but instead, required jewels which could compliment this look – putting the emphasis squarely on spectacular earrings that could stand up to the column-like coverage of the floor-length (and full-coverage) glamour gowns.
And no stylemaker rocked this look better on the holiest of fashion nights than Kate Beckinsale, who glittered in a black sequined gown on the Red Carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Beckinsale showed off her slender silhouette with spectacular architectural platinum and diamond earrings from Tacori, spotlighted by an elegant ponytail updo that exposed the glittering baubles.
Proof positive that simple geometry can produce rich effects, these hexagonally shaped earrings are a one-of-a-kind design, hand selected for Kate Beckinsale’s stunning ensemble. With over 8 carats of brilliant cut diamonds illuminating her ears, the “Underworld” star sparkled in strong statement jewelry, showing that oversized earrings are a classic way to add glamour.
