This amazing “star-crossed” style is featured in the iconic “Cupid’s Arrow” commercial, as its ribbon-twisted band personifies this love story told through Diamonds, with the ups and down of the two lives seen in the path of the diamond-studded band, and the magical meeting of “the one” displayed with the magnificently brilliant round center diamond.

From the vault: flawless emerald cut engagement ring

Emerald Cut engagement ring - HT2273

Emerald Cut engagement ring - HT2273

The emerald cut diamond can be absolutely stunning.  This regal shape has been worn on the left hand of diamond-loving women such as Elizabeth Taylor, Ellen Pompeo, Camilla Parker Bowles and Melania Knauss.

Because of its clean, long lines, the emerald cut tends to be less fiery than a “round brilliant” cut, but it also tends to have broader, more dramatic flashes of light.  The trim lines of emerald cut diamonds lend an elegant, sophisticated air to both the simplest and most elaborate ring settings.

For your consideration from Tacori, we unlocked our vault and unearthed a 6 carat D-flawless emerald cut diamond, set within a Crescent Sihouette setting, which brings the total diamond presence to over 10 carats total weight.   While still smaller than the impressive 12 carat emerald cut diamond engagement ring that Grace Kelly was given from Prince Rainier, we think this Tacori ring is ever so worthy of a princess (or queen).

From the vault: a cushion cut diamond ring

Nadine's One of a Kind Engagement Ring

Nothing says “vintage” quite like a cushion cut diamond engagement ring.  This romantic diamond style hearkens back to the olde days with its rounded “pillow like” shape and the exceptional length and depth of the cushion cut diamond.

The cushion cut is an antique diamond cut that used to be called a “candlelight diamond”, referring to the way it was cut prior to electric lights, and a time when diamonds were measured in sparkle by the brilliance they exhibited in candlelight.

Thus, sultry candlit rooms are the perfect backdrop for a cushion cut diamond engagement ring to show its best fire, because this diamond shape will sparkle in the dark of night or the day with light.  Although not as fiery or brilliant as many of the newer cuts, it has a marvelously romantic and classic look and definitely stands out from the crowd.

A cushion cut diamond is for a woman of style who demands to be set apart by her discerning tastes.  In point of fact, this featured cushion cut diamond engagement ring is literally a one-of-a-kind heritage design from Tacori — made especially for a Tacori family member — and destined to be a Tacori treasure for the vault.

Passion for Asscher

Asscher cut diamond engagement ring - style 2581ash85

Asscher cut diamond engagement ring - style 2581ash85

The Asscher cut diamond was developed in 1902 by the Asscher Brothers of Holland as an exclusive diamond cut for the Royal Family.

An Asscher cut diamond is cut with a series of many parallel steps, creating a hall-of-mirrors effect when looking deeply into the stone.

Regal certainly, but I bet those Asscher brothers never anticipated the swooning for this shape that would ensue after an asscher-cut diamond was featured on Sex & The City, and then worn by Hollywood royalty, Kate Hudson.

Truly, the Asscher cut diamond is an intriguing hybrid: using of the step-cuts that are a hallmark of the  emerald-cut diamond, combined with the squared shape of the princess-cut, and further utilizing the cross-cuts often seen in radiant stones –  it is a modern marvel.

In keeping with the clean, art deco appeal of the diamond cut itself — and the haute couture company that this diamond often keeps — this 3 carat Asscher diamond is framed within a contemporary Tacori engagement ring setting with a  high-polished cleanly-shaped rounded platinum band.

The  diamond fire and refractive heat of the Asscher  itself is fanned ablaze with sophisticated diamond baguettes on each side. From the profile, Tacori’s signature crescent silhouette accents provide windows of light into this magnificent engagement ring, worthy of Royal attention.

Geometry of Diamonds

Tacori diamond ring, style 2569pr6

In High School, Geometry may have meant calculating the angles of quadrilateral Triangles or knowing the theorum that equates the area of a Square as “a squared”.   However, as an adult, we’ve found that it’s much more fun to talk geometry of shapes and when you’re talking about Diamonds!

This diamond engagement ring exemplifies sparkle to the nth degree,  with the inclusion of three different diamond shapes:  Square (aka Princess cut diamond), Triangle (aka Trillion) and Round (aka Round Brilliant).

An engagement ring ideal for the modern beauty with a careful eye for design, this diamond ring features two trillion-cut diamonds (Triangles) framing a princess-cut (Square) center diamond.  Delicate filigree details and rows of round diamonds set along the channel of the band establish the Tacori look and style, all in perfect geometric symmetry.

A Five Table Ring

5 Table Engagement Ring; style ht2531rd12x

We’re not going to bore you with talk about gemological properties; no aspect ratios, or table-to-face brilliance factors.   No facet counts, nor light performance specifications.

But we are going to put the spotlight on that intangible quality that makes an engagement ring stand apart from the crowd: Presence.

This engagement ring has it.  We call this ring a Five Table Ring…because you can see it, from five tables away.

With spectacular presence and “hand appeal”, this engagement ring is not for the timid.  Demanding to be admired, it’s brilliant round center stone is enhanced with a crown of diamonds.  Tapered baguettes rain along the shoulders of the ring for a dramatic contrast, and diamonds add intrigue and unrestrained glamour from every unexpected angle.

If you’re wearing this engagement ring – prepare to turn heads and stop traffic with it!

The Great Tacori – Bright and Regal

Princess engagement ring - HT243012

Revisiting the Classics is a traditional summer pastime.  Many a summer vacay or long weekend has been spent immersed in  Bronte, Hemingway or Plath.  And while these literary giants bring us to historical times and places, our thoughts also tend towards…surprise (!)…the vintage jewelry of the times.

Imagine Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby-era, in the pinnacle of fabulously flaunted socialiates, and we asked ourselves: what would the lovely Daisy Buchanan wear as her engagement ring?

From our own archive vault of Tacori classics, we picked a spectacular — yet tasteful — traditional three-stone engagement ring for Daisy.  As a true American princess, the princess-cut seemed a natural fit as her diamond shape.  Clean, 4-corner prongs hold the hero diamonds securely, and the sparkle is amplified with channels of square cut diamonds helping echo the symmetrical shimmer from every angle.

Handcrafted with vintage designer touches such as milligrain trimwork detailing, and the signature crescent silhouettes on the side of the ring, we feel that this engagement ring is an ideal made-in-America ring for a classic Lady.

‘What’s in a name? that which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet.”

In this blushing rose amethyst 18k925 ring, structural crescent designs in glossy .925 silver form the contours of this vibrant form, with sweet 18k rose gold and glittering diamonds framing the bold cushion-cut shape for a fantasy bouquet of subtle sophistication and modern design.  MSRP: $1,100

‘What’s in a name?’ – that this ring is a Blooming Rose Amethyst matters naught.  What matters most is the beauty, the design, the connection — were this name not “Tacori” – it would still be beautiful.
