TACORI Love Story: Tiffany Brooks & Dyron Jolly -The Perfect Combination

The Perfect Combination

Dyron and Tiffany: The Perfect Combination

Dyron and Tiffany: The Perfect Combination

A real Tacori girl love story:

Dyron and I have known each other for over 7 years but we didn’t always get along. We met back in college and it seemed that no matter where we went or moved we couldn’t get away from each other. All throughout college, we always ended up in the same major classes, internships, groups, and we even went to the same church.
After college, we both ended up in Washington D.C. which is where our friendship started to evolve. After a couple of years, we both ended up here in Dallas, TX working for the same company. So some would call it coincidence but we believe it was destiny.  And this is where our story of the perfect combination began to blossom.

Just like all other little girls, I’ve been planning the details of my wedding right down to the Tacori ring that I wanted. So of course, once Dyron and I began getting serious, I made it a point to introduce him to my ring just in case.

One afternoon, I was sitting at my desk when I received an email from Dyron, stating that he had received an invitation to a “Diamond Show” at the Robbins Brothers in Arlington, TX (which by the way is where I took him to see the ring about a year earlier) and to check my email to see if I had received one. Sure enough, in my inbox was the same invitation addressed to me for an invitation only “Diamond Show” at Robbins Brothers in 2 weeks. Dyron then began inquiring about how they got his information and whether or not I would be interested in going. Does a pregnant lady crave ice cream?! Of course I was interested in going! I immediately called the store and a woman by the name of Amy answered the phone. I began inquiring about “My” Tacori ring (I knew the Tacori style number as well as the Robbins Brother’s style number by heart) at which point she put me on hold to “check to see if they had” and informed me that they should. The following day, Dyron told me to wear something nice the day of the “Diamond Show” because we were going somewhere afterwards which was not out of the ordinary.  The Friday before the “Diamond Show”, we attended a couples’ Halloween Party where Dyron told me to no longer worry about dressing up the next day and to just throw on some jeans. On Saturday, he picked me up around 1:30pm for our 2:00pm appointment with Amy. He also reminded me not to forget the invitation because the event called for the invitation to enter.

Upon arriving at Robbins Brothers, we were greeted at the door and met with Amy. Amy then informed me that in order to view the diamonds, it was mandatory that I watch a video about the diamonds which I really didn’t care to do but I agreed. As I looked around, I noticed that there was wine, cheese and crackers, a beautiful wedding cake, flowers everywhere, a photography vendor, and a wedding dress vendor, not to mention that the store was packed. So of course it looked like there was definitely an event in full swing. Upon sitting down to watch the video, there was only one chair and so Dyron had to stand behind me and the entire store could see us. Once the video, started, it told a tale of “destiny and the perfect combination”. The video talked about the perfect diamond that was born in March of 1983 from a royal family and wouldn’t settle for anything but the best. It also spoke of all the trials and hard times and pressure that this diamond went through before becoming the perfect princess cut diamond. It then began to talk about a setting that came along in January the year of 1984, and how God created this setting to be the support and protector of a perfect diamond. The video proceeded to talk about how the diamond and the ring tried to come together prematurely and it was disastrous b/c the diamond had not been smoothed or polished yet but little did they know what destiny had in store for them. After which, a picture of “my ring” popped up on the screen titled the perfect combination. The video then began to state that in order for them to become the perfect combination, she must first accept his engagement. At which point a picture of Dyron and I came on the screen and the words “Will you Tiffany?” I was totally confused and it took me a second to catch on at which point I turned around, a professional photographer came out of nowhere and began capturing pictures of the entire thing, the whole store was looking at me, oooing and ahhing and there was the love of my life, “my Tacori setting, down on one knee holding the box with a light shinning down on the most beautiful ring I’d ever seen, it was “My ring”!!! My eyes teared up as I became overwhelmed with joy and I saw his lips moving but I couldn’t hear a thing, but you had better believe I said yes!!!

You see, it turns out that the entire thing was fake; Dyron made up the “Diamond Show” invitation and had Amy, send it to me. When Amy, had placed me on hold the day I called, I found out that she had panicked and called Dyron on the other line asking him what she should tell me. Dyron told me to throw on jeans, to keep me from suspecting anything and he had Amy call in real vendors and decorate the store to make it look like there was a real event going on. And the video was a metaphor for me (the perfect princess cut diamond), him (the perfect Tacori setting created to support the diamond), and our friendship and relationship and how it had evolved throughout the years.

The most beautiful surprise and about this entire thing is that, I found out that it was my sister whose voice was narrating the video and that this beautiful story was created, written, and put together by the most generous, loving,  attentive, thoughtful person that I have ever been blessed to know, my fiancée!!!
So not only am I marrying the best guy, I got the most incredible, thoughtful, creative, and detail oriented engagement ever, but every time that I look down at my ring, I see the “Perfect Combination” which is not just the ring and the diamond but Dyron and myself and it doesn’t get any better than that!

Congratulations Dyron and Tiffany! Tacori wishes you a lifetime of love and happiness!
